A Troy man died in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning.

Laymon Matthew Murphy, 46, was killed when the 2000 Chevrolet 1500 pick-up he was driving left the roadway, struck a utility pole and overturned, according to Alabama State Troopers.

The crash happened about 2:30 a.m. on Bullock County Road 177, six miles northwest of Union Springs.

Murphy was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle, according to Troopers.

No further information is available at this time as Troopers continue to investigate this crash.
