One arrested, two warrants issued in Tennille burglary

One man was arrested and two warrants have been issued in connection with a Wednesday burglary in the Tennille community.

“We had received information that some individuals were going to be selling some property – electronics and other things – that we felt were stolen. So, we set up surveillance and saw the transaction take place,” said Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas.

At the time of the transaction, lawmen were unable to identify the property as missing from a residence, but a few hours later a burglary in Tennille was reported and the missing property description matched.

“We were able to pull it all together and obtain three warrants,” Thomas said.

8.16_BurglaryMugWEB_SubRonnie Rae Money, Jr., 24, of Troy, was arrested Friday morning and charged with receiving stolen property and violation of the sex offender act for failing to live where he was registered.

“We are attempting to locate the other two individuals,” Thomas said.

The recovered property from the Tennille burglary was a BOSE home radio valued at $600, a 42-inch flatscreen Samsung television, an air compressor, DVD player, satellite box and a Porta Cable brad nailer – all valued at about $1,600.

“We actually had the property back before the burglary was ever reported,” Thomas said. “That’s not something that happens all the time.”
