In this series, we’ll give you a sneak peek into the future and Troy’s 2013 football schedule. We’ll post two games each day and give you an in-depth look at what to expect once the Trojans take the field. From UAB to Texas State, we’ve got you covered.
Aug. 31 – UAB Sept. 7 – Savannah State
Sept. 12 – at Arkansas State Sept. 21 – at Mississippi State
Sept. 28 – at Duke
Troy looks to bounce back after two consecutive losses. Duke is also coming off two straight losses to Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech.
Corey Robinson and the Troy offense has a field day with the Blue Devils defense, the same defense that ranked 105th in 2012. The Trojans rack up over 500 yards of offense. Eric Thomas and Bryan Holmes have over 100 yards receiving.
The defense forces three turnovers. Dimitri Miles and Mark Wilson each recover fumbles while Chris Pickett intercepts a pass. This one was never really a game though Duke does put a couple of scores up late to make the score respectable.
Troy’s running game struggles showing that it still has some work to do. The offense line gives up a few sacks raising a few eyebrows. Overall, however, the Trojans look strong and earn the program’s first win over a power-conference opponent on the road since Tory defeated Mississippi State in 2001.
RESULT: Troy looks solid in a road WIN, 31-21.
STAT OF THE GAME: Corey Robinson 28-for-42, 380 yards, 3 TDs.
