Troy head coach Max Bundy said that the losses are tough to take.

“This is two nights in a row that the losses have come like this,” Bundy said.

losses have come like this,” Bundy said. “Hardly any teams have scored a lot of runs on us. Our girls fight to the end, and have been in every ball game they have played. Two big hits at the end of each game have cost us a shot at going all the way.”

Troy and Dothan stayed locked at zero for the the first three innings before Emily Williamson came across on an RBI single by Abbi Campbell.

In the fifth, Sadie Leverette gave Troy a brief lead, scoring on a fielder’s choice off the bat of McKenzie Cain.

Despite the loss, and elimination from further play, Budy said that the level of play and determination his team showed was high.

“I’m still proud of these girls,” Bundy said. “We had the team to go to state, but it just wasn’t in the cards for us. They worked hard and will be back again.”
