A Brundidge man was killed in a one-vehicle wreck on Alabama Highway 130 near Banks this morning when his vehicle struck a downed tree.

Alabama State Troopers have identified the driver as Ivery Dunford Jr., 51. He was driving a 2001 Freightliner truck when he hit a tree that had fallen across the roadway during last night’s storms. The crash happened about eight miles north of Banks.

Dunford was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Coroner Jerry Williams. The tractor trailer continued on and struck a portion of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church #2.
