Sasha Tuck, director of the program, said that this is the third year the center has participated in the program and it’s her second year as director.

“The biggest difference this year is the number of children involved,” she said.

Tuck said that the program will host roughly 130 children, which involves ages 5-12.

“We have two new activities this year for the children to participate in,” she said. “Along with arts and crafts, enrichment, and board games, there will also be music awareness and dance fitness added this year.”

For the music awareness part of the program, two advanced band students from Charles Henderson High School will be assisting with teaching various instruments.

An instructor will be available for the dance fitness portion, where a Wii will be available for the children to dance along with on a monitor.

Each camper participating will receive a T-shirt at registration, along with lunch and two snacks per day at the camp.

The weeks of camp are June 3-28 and July 1-Aug. 2.

The camp costs $55 per week for each child and runs Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Although there is no room left for ages 5-8, there is still space available for ages 9-12.
