Man arrested for attempted murder in Troy

Police have arrested a Troy man on two counts of attempted murder.
Alvin Augustus Cannon was taken into custody on May 30 in connection with a shooting that happened on May 25.
Officers responded to the 300 Block of Aster Avenue in Troy about 10 p.m on May 25 and found that two people had been shot.
One victim was transported to the Troy Regional Medical Center by ambulance and the second victim was taken by a private vehicle. One of the victims was later transported to Montgomery for further treatment. Wounds were determined to be non-life threatening, according to the Troy Police Department.
An investigation by TPD detectives led to Cannon’s arrest. He was taken into custody at the Troy Police Department and transferred to the Pike County Jail. Total bond on his charges is $100,000. The case is still under investigation by TPD.
