Mr. Robert Emory Griffin of Troy passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Troy Regional Medical Center in Troy. He was 94. Funeral services for Robert Emory Griffin will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Kent Dendy officiating. Interment will follow in Griffin Cemetery under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home, Troy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday one hour prior to the service. He was born March 10, 1919 in Troy to the late Solomon Griffin and Pearl Cardwell Griffin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Evelyn Taylor Griffin, sister and brother, Annie Lee Quinley and William Joseph Griffin. He is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-laws: Robert Allen (Christine) Griffin, Macon, GA; and Titus (Sarah) Griffin, Troy, AL; grandchildren: Jeremy Griffin, Columbus, OH; and Meredith Griffin, Phoenix, AZ. Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Ward, Max Barron, Jeremy Griffin, David Dean, Harold Taylor and Larry Taylor. Memorials may be made to Union Hill Methodist Church, attn. Fay Wilks.
