Did Pike County scale back?

It’s just about time to see how much Pike County “scaled back” this year.
The Scale Back Alabama competition is coming to a close and Pike County teams are set to weigh out at the beginning of next week.
Weigh-outs will be on the third floor of Troy Regional Medical Center, according to TRMC’s Director of Marketing Karen Herring.
Participants can visit TRMC on Monday from 3 to 6 p.m., Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m., or Thursday from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
“We are very excited to be able to offer this program in our community,” Herring said. “We know that Alabama faces a tremendous challenge with regard to obesity and that the extra weight leads to all types of health problems. We’re happy to do our part in helping Alabamians get started on a good path that will hopefully change their lives.”
Scale Back Alabama, now in its seventh year, is a 10-week contest designed to get teams of four adults to lose at least 10 pounds by eating less and moving more.
To participate, teams must have had participants weigh in beginning the week of Jan. 19. Teams received health tips throughout the 10 weeks.
Grand prizes will be awarded from a drawing of individuals who participate on a team in which all members lose at least 10 pounds. The first-place team will win $1,000 per team member; the second-place team will win $500 per team member; and the third-place team members will win $250 per team member. For those individuals who lose at least 10 pounds, but were on a team that did not all reach the goal, there is a separate prize drawing for 50 individual prizes of $100 each.
