Communitywide Easter Sunrise Services will be held at Bulldog Stadium in Brundidge and Greenhills Memorial Park in Troy on Sunday.
The Rev. Michael Lawler, pastor of Brundidge United Methodist Church, said that local churches host the annual Sunrise Service on the Holiest day of the year. The service will begin at 6:30 a.m.
The Rev. Willie Moultry will deliver the Easter message and special music will be provided by the Salem Baptist Church choir.
“The Easter Sunrise Service is an awesome experience as we watch the sun come up and day grow brighter,” Lawler said. “What a wonderful way to celebrate our Risen Lord.”
The Easter Sunrise Service at Greenhills on Highway 29 South in Troy is set for 6:15 a.m.
Jamie Whitworth said the Rev. Louis Johnson of The Vine church will bring the message of Easter.
Whitworth said that watching the sunrise on Easter morning to a background of spiritual music is a meaningful and uplifting experience.
“Those who attend will be invited to breakfast following the service,” he said.
In the event of rain, the Brundidge service will be held at Salem Baptist Church and the Greenhills service will be in the chapel.
