The Troy City Council met with a short agenda on Tuesday evening.
During the council meeting, members voted to approve a special event and liquor license for an upcoming Ducks Unlimited, Inc. event; to authorize the city clerk to dispose of surplus city property through auction or other means; to clear weeds at 111 Harrison St. and assess the cost to the property owner who lives in Washington, D.C.; and to provide a local match of $638,000 for ATRIP projects on Enzor Road, Henderson Highway and Elm Street.
The council also heard the first reading for a rezoning request by Carolina Girls, LLC. The company owns acres of land at 695 Enzor Road, across from the Sportsplex, and would like to have it rezoned from RR/R1 to RR so that patio homes may be built on the property. A second reading will be held at the next city council meeting.
Council members reminded residents that there is one week left for the District 3 clean-up of large items and trash will not be picked up on Friday, due to the holiday. Trash, instead, will be removed on Thursday.
