Top-ranked Charles Henderson rolls Bullock Co.

The No. 1 ranked Charles Henderson Trojans baseball team scored seven runs in the first inning to knock off Bullock County, 14-0, in the team’s first area contest of the season.

The Trojans (15-1, 1-0) added four runs in the second and three more in the third to take the game in five innings.

Charles Henderson starter Brantley Lecroy pitched all five innings allowing just three hits while striking out 11. Lecroy would use 81 pitches and face just 20 batters in going the distance.

The Trojans used hits from Chase Smartt, Luke Hastings and Morgan Shaver and took advantage of Bullock County miscues to jump ahead in the first inning, 7-0.

Bullock County would commit 10 errors in the contest and would fail to hit the ball out of the infield.

Blake Craft blasted a three-run home run in the third inning to cap the Trojans scoring.

Charles Henderson would use just six hits in the contest. Hunter Baggett and Austin Ingram also had hits for the Trojans, who played 14 players in the game.

The teams will match up again tonight in a double header on the Charles Henderson High School campus.

First pitch for Game 1 is set for noon.
