The Charles Henderson High School theater department will present “Trouble Shooting for Teens” at 6 p.m. tonight and Saturday in the CHHS cafeteria. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door.
Michalyn Hinson, drama teacher/production director, said “Trouble Shooting for Teens” is a comedy featuring Ken and Barbie, played by Greyson Motes and Lisa Baugh.
“This is a one-act play that is a series of short scenes,” Hinson said. “It’s funny and it’s fun. Ken, who has a huge male ego, has everyone else under his spell and they follow him around like puppies.”
The play is actually an infomercial with tips for teens on how to get out of sticky situations with their parents and friends and, maybe, with that first love.
Other cast members are Jonathan Carswell, Kendra Hampton, Victoria Outlaw, Shanterrika Williams, Kris Jordan, Hannah Gordon, Amber Taylor, Ethan Montgomery, Raquel Cole, Jeremy Green, Winnecka Grubbs, Key’Ousha Foster and Jocelyn Jointer.
The crew includes Sean Hopkins, acting coach; Laura Cain, stage manager; Zach Calhoun, lighting; Alex McLendon, makeup/set; Chelsea Carr, ticket sales; and Haylee Baggett, programs.
The CHHS theater department will present its largest production, “Oz” later in the spring.
“We would like to thank our families and the CHHS staff and administrator for their support,” Hinson said. “We would also like to thank Troy City Schools for providing the theater students of CHHS with a wonderful place to showcase their talents and our sponsors who have supported the theater program this year.”
Sponsors of the CHHS theater program are Troy City Schools Education Foundation, The Printing Press, Trojan Graphics, Trojan Zone, Eezetec, LLC, 3 Frogz Studios and the Troy Arts Council.
