The Goshen Lady Eagles got off to a good start on Firday night at the Lady Trojan Classic at the Troy Sportsplex.
Goshen squeaked past Geneva 3-1 due in large part to the bat of Shelby Vinson, to open the tournament.
Carmen Kelly scored in the top of the second for Goshen on a shot to left field by Vinson.
Haley Hughes would score twice in the game, both times on hits by Vinson.
Vinson finished the night 3-3, and knocked in all the Lady Eagle RBIs. Hughes went 1-2 at the plate, and scored two runs.
Hughes also picked up the win in the circle for Goshen, striking out four Panther batters along the way.
