Mr. Earl “ Pop” Beardslee of Goshen, AL. passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Medical Center Enterprise in Enterprise, AL. He was 87. Funeral services for Earl Beardslee will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Kenny Horn officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Military Honors for Mr. Beardslee will be conducted by Charlie’s Angels. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy. Earl Beardslee was born August 26, 1925 in Parksville, N.Y. He served our Country in the U.S. Navy for 4 years 9 months. Mr. Beardslee was known as Pop to a lot of people in Troy, AL. from when he worked at Trojan Animal Clinic. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Beardslee who died in 2005; 2 sons Kim Alan Beardslee, 2001 and Daniel Beardslee, 2008, granddaughter, Caitlin Rose Smith, 2000. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Betty (Jimmy) Smith, Goshen, AL; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Clifford (Connie) Beardslee, Malta, N.Y.; and Eddie (Betty) Hotaling, Slate Hill, N.Y.; sisters-in-law: Kathleen Maggio, Valrico, FL; and Carol (Roger) Ackley, Oneonta, N.Y.; and grandchildren: Meagan Shannon, Eddie John Hotaling and Kenny Hotaling. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Drinkard, Mike Smith, Jimmy Smith, Sr., Dr. Joe Maddox, Jeremiah Eddins and David Stephens.
