Hang on to your hats because “All that Jazz” from Chicago’s windy city will blow into Troy tonight.
“Chicago” opens tonight at the Trojan Center Theater on the campus of Troy University and will run through Saturday night. All four performances will be at 7:30 p.m.
“Troy University’s production of ‘Chicago” will showcase the best of our performing arts faculty and students with collaboration between the departments of Theater and Dance, Art and Design and the John M. Long School of Music,” said Dr. Maryjo Cochran, dean of the university’s College of Communication and Fine Arts. “The audience won’t be able to resist tapping their toes and humming along to the delightful music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb. ‘Chicago’ will provide a glimpse into the rollicking Jazz Age with dazzling dancers, sultry singers and marvelous music.”
“Chicago” has everything that makes Broadway great – a tale of fame, fortune and “all that jazz.” The musical has one show-stopping song after another and amazing dancing.
“Chicago” has been honored with six Tony Awards, two Oliver Awards, a Grammy and has received thousands of standing ovations. The musical has played to audiences around the world, from Mexico to Moscow and from Sao Paulo to South Africa.
For four incredible nights, Broadway will come to town and “Chicago” will light up the stage of the Trojan Center Theater. It’s a “don’t miss” event, Cochran said.
Tickets for the popular windy city musical are $10 and $5 for Troy University students with an ID.
Tickets may be purchased at the Troy Box Office at the Trojan Center, on line at www.troytheatre.org or by calling 334-808-6477.
