The Charles Henderson High School softball team is looking to rebound from a 11-4 loss to Northview last week at home. Rain washed out the Northview Tournament over the weekend in which the Trojans were scheduled to play.

Rain once again changed the team’s plans on Monday as Charles Henderson was forced into the in-campus indoor practice facility.

The Trojans will host the Trojan Classic this weekend and head coach Robin Snyder is hoping for a good turnout.

“A lot of people have put a lot of work into making this tournament happen,” Snyder said. “We have a great field of teams coming in and it will be a great event for the fans.”

15 teams will make their way to Troy for the two-day event. Teams expected to appear in addition to Charles Henderson are Alma Bryant, Eufaula, Geneva, Goshen, Northview, Theodore, Ariton, Zion Chapel, Opelika, St. Paul’s G.W. Long, New Brockton, Smiths Station and LAMP.

The field is spit into two pools with the teams playing two games each. Each team will then be seeded for a single elimination, bracket-style tournament on Saturday.

The Trojans are pooled with Smiths Station and LAMP. First game for CHHS is scheduled for 6:30 P.m. on Friday then 8 P.m. against LAMP the same day.
