Goshen town councilman Carter Sanders has resigned his position on the council.
Sanders was the third leading vote getter in November’s general election, but will not have any further membership duties.
The council members did say that three applicants have gone through the process of applying for the vacant position and a new official will be appointed in the near future.
The council also voted to change the meeting date for the monthly meeting.
The Goshen Town Council will now meet the third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. at the Goshen Town Hall.
The council discussed plans to add a covered batting cage at the recreation field. The lowest bid was from a company from Mississippi , with a higher bid coming from Farmco. The council did note that the materials would cost $6,100.
The city of Goshen will also host a Color Run on Feb. 23 to benefit citizen Dee Brundidge. Brundidge lost his home on Dec. 25 during the tornado outbreak.
The council went in to executive session to discuss the vacant position left by Carter with no plans for any business after the conclusion of the session.
