Starling to start Game 1 for Troy

Troy baseball head coach Bobby Pierce announced the starting pitching rotation for this weekend’s opening series against Florida A&M.
Former Pike Liberal Arts standout Will Starling will start Game 1 on the mound for the Trojans.
Starling is in his first year with the Try baseball program after spending two seasons at Southern Union Community College.
As a freshman, Starling went 11-4 with a 2.89 ERA striking out 106 batters while walking just 28 in 88 innings of work. He also helped the Bisons to the Alabama state championship that season.
His sophomore season, Starling posted a 5-6 record with a 4.85 ERA with four saves.
As a member of the Pike Liberal Arts program, Starling was a three-time all-state selection and lead the Patriots to the AISA state finals his junior and senior year.
First pitch from Riddle-Pace Field on Friday is set for 6 p.m.
