Troy Police are searching for a child reported missing from his home about 11:30 Tuesday morning.
Isiah Deyshuan Jones, 13, was reported missing by his mother, who also told police she noticed a red duffel bag and clothing gone from his closet.
Jones is a Goshen student who lives on County Road 7738, across from Deer Run mobile home park on the north side of Troy. He was last seen about 8:30 Monday night. Jones is about 5-feet, 10-inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He could be dressed in a gray jacket and tan pants.
Police believe Jones may have run away due to an issue at school Monday that left him suspended, pending a hearing. The boy’s father lives in North Carolina and there may be a chance he is heading there. However, his father is en route to Troy.
“We have checked all the bus stations in the area and we don’t believe he boarded a bus, but he may have gotten a ride from someone,” said Troy Police Sgt. Benny Scarbrough. “We are not looking for him because of his trouble in school. We are not looking for him for any other reason than he is a missing child.”
Anyone with information about where Jones is, or who he may be with, is asked to call the Troy Police Department as soon as possible at 566-0500. Witnesses can call the Secret Witness Line at 566-5555 to remain anonymous, but Scarbrough urges people to call the main number because the information will get to detectives faster.
“We need to find out where he is, immediately,” Scarbrough said.
