Now that the regular season is all but finished, local basketball teams are gearing up for the area tournaments set to start on Thursday.

Charles Henderson will host both the boys and girls Class 4A Area 3 tournament. Both Trojan teams won their respective regular season area title finishing a perfect 6-0.

The girls tournament will begin on Thursday with Headland taking on Ashford at 5:30 p.m. At Wagoner Hall. The Trojans will then host Bullock County in the opening round at 7 p.m.

The boys tournament will begin on Friday as Headland and Bullock County square off at 5:30 p.m.. Then, Charles Henderson will take on Ashford at 7 p.m.

The championship games for both tournament will be held on Monday with the girls playing at 5:30 and the boys tipping off at 7 p.m.

Goshen’s girls and boys teams will head to Elba. The girls face Zion Chapel at 5:30 p.m. On Thursday while the boys play Elba on Friday at 7 p.m.

Pike County boys will face Barbour County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in Clayton. The girls will play host Abbeville at 6:30 p.m. On Thursday.
