Troy to announce 2013 football schedule on Tuesday

Troy is expected to release its full 2013 football schedule on Tuesday. It will be interesting to see how the conference slate pans out as Florida Atlantic and Middle Tennessee are leaving for Conference USA a year earlier than expected.
It is rumored that Duke will fill the late season void created by the shortened league schedule. The season-opener, which was originally set to be Alcorn State, will likely be against another FCS school.
It seems likely that Troy will travel to Duke in 2013 with the Blue Devils heading to Veterans Memorial in 2014. This means Troy would play just five home games in 2013 instead of the six as originally scheduled.
Troy was scheduled to play Alcorn State, UAB and four league games at home in 2013. Now, the Trojans will face Alcorn’s replacement, UAB and three conference matches. Troy traveled to Mobile in 2012 so the South Alabama will come to Troy in 2013. Texas State and Georgia State will join the Sun Belt Conference in 2013 and it is likely that one will visit Veterans Memorial Stadium this coming season. Troy did not play Louisiana-Monroe last season, but had they played the game would have been in Monroe. If the rotation is kept in tact, the Warhawks would travel this season.
Other non-conference games already scheduled are UAB (8/31), at Mississippi State (9/21) and at Ole Miss (11/16).
