Pike routs SMCA, moves to 3-0

The Craig Kennedy era at Pike Liberal Arts is off to a roaring start.

Both the the Partriot boys and girls claimed wins over South Montgomery County Academy.

The boys team clobbered the Raiders 65-36 in a game which never saw them trail.

Pike lead by just three after the first quarter, and by eight at half. A hot start to the second half allowed the Pats to cruise to the easy win.

Marquese Chrisitian dropped two straight three’s from the wing on the first two possesions of the second half to immediately break the game wide open.

The hot shooting by the Pats contiued throughout the second half, with Rush Hixon dropping nine points on the night.

Christian led the Pats with 23.

The Patriot girls team also cruised to another win by routing the Lady Raiders 49-12.

The two low post players for the Patriots, Kore Chirico and Carrley Barron , and a big night once again.

Chirico and Barron scored on Pike’s first six possesions to get the Pats off to a hot start.

Chirico led Pike Liberal Arts with 14 points, while Barron added 10.

Both the boys and the girls squads will participate in a tournament at Abbeville Christian Academy in Abbeville on Nov.19-20.
