Elderly victim robbed, police arrest Brundidge man

Troy Police have arrested a man after the armed robbery of an 88-year-old victim.

Dujuan Larial Mency, of Brundidge, was arrested Friday morning in connection with the Tuesday afternoon crime.

Police report that Mency allegedly went to the male victim’s home on U.S. Highway 231 about 4 p.m. Tuesday to pay back money a female borrowed had borrowed from the victim. Instead, Mency is accused of pulling a pistol on the man and demanding his wallet.

An undisclosed amount of property, including jewelry, was taken from the victim during the robbery, according to the Troy Police Department.

Mency left the residence and got into an unknown vehicle and fled the scene.

TPD detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Mency Thursday afternoon.

Mency was taken into custody in Brundidge Friday at 9:30 a.m. and transported to the police departemnt without incident.

His bond was set at $10,000 and he has been transferred to the Pike County Jail.

According to Troy Police Sgt. Benny Scarbrough, this case is still under investigation.
