Tis the season for “A Chili County Christmas” and that’s just what the Brundidge Historical Society has planned for the holiday season.

The historical group will present master storyteller Dolores Hydock and musical master Bobby Horton in “Jingle All the Way,” which features a holiday blend of stories, favorite Christmas carols and songs and a jolly sing-along on Thursday, December 6 at the We Piddle Around Theater in downtown Brundidge.

“Dolores Hydock was the featured storyteller at our June Buggin’ event this summer and everyone enjoyed her tremendously and wanted us to have her again,” said Cathie Steed, a member of the BHS storytelling committee. “We are excited that she will be back for our Chili Country Christmas with Bobby Horton, who many will know from the very popular ‘Three on a String.’”

Steed said for the many who have made productions at the We Piddle Around Theater a part of their Christmas tradition, there’s no better way to get into the Christmas spirit than to sit down to a bowl of hot chili on a chilly, winter night and enjoy the songs and stories of the Christmas season.

“Each Chili Country Christmas event celebrates the merriment of the season and also brings renewed awareness to the real reason for the season,” Steed said. “Dolores Hydock and Bobby Horton will blend holiday stories and songs into sparkling mix to jump start the holiday season.”

“A Chili Country Christmas will include pre-show music by Bobby Horton and a family-style homemade chili supper with all the fixin’s and a holiday dessert,” Steed said. “Everyone is invited to come early and enjoy an old-fashioned Christmas in historic downtown Brundidge complete with cider and sidewalk singers.
