Scott has been solid for Troy this season. He has hit 13 of 17 field goal attempts. Scott was also named Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 24.

Oddly, Troy, averaging 499.5 yards of offense per game, has had just one player named Offensive Player of the Week (Shawn Southward, Week 1), where as two have each been named Defensive and Special Teams POW.

CBSsports.com is projecting Troy to the BBVA Compass Bowl in Birmingham on Jan. 5 to face Toledo.

Scout.com and SBNation.com left Troy off of their Week 11 projections.

The Troy women’s basketball team lost its season opener on the road to Winthrop, 87-82. The Eagles were 18-13 last season including an 80-66 win over Troy.

One encouraging thing about the loss is the points scored. Troy averaged just under 50 points (49.9) per game last season didn’t score 80+ in 28 games.

HERE is Matt Mays game story.

The women’s team will play its home opener on Wednesday against Mercer. Tip is set for 7 p.m. at Trojan Arena.
