Baxter and Ross will take office on Nov. 5.

Four provisional ballots were cast. Two were rejected and one counted for Bowden in District 1 and one for Foster in District 3.

Bowden expressed appreciation for the opportunity that he has had to serve District 1 and the city of Brundidge for the past eight years.

“We have been able to accomplish good things by working together,” he said. “And I emphasize ‘together.’”

Bowden said that he has congratulated Baxter and he pledged his support to the council and will continue to have the best interest of Brundidge at heart.

Jackson said that he will miss serving on the council and will now “sit on the other side” of the council table.
