Dorothy R. Jackson was born January 15, 1946 to Mrs. Annie L. Jackson and the late Sylvester Jackson. At an early age she joined the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She received her education in the Troy School System where she graduated from the Academy Street High School in 1963. She was employed many years in the nursery at First United Methodist Church. She loved to fish.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her father Mr. Sylvester Jackson, her grandparents Mr. John and Susie Jackson and Mr. Samuel and Mary Still. She leaves to cherish her memories three loving daughters; Wendy (Timothy) Greenwood, Jacksonville, N.C.; Carla (David) Bush, Killeen, TX and Roberta(Marcus) Pouncey, Jacksonville,N.C. Three grand daughters Alexius Pouncey; Jacksonville,N.C.; Endya Pouncey, Jacksonville, N.C.; Quiana Jackson , Troy, Al whom she raised and loved more than life itself. Five grandsons; Antonio Jackson, Jacksonville, N.C.; Latharian Merritt, Killeen,TX; Gerald Jackson, Jacksonville, N.C.; Jaquavius Pouncey, Jacksonville, N.C.; Jalacean Pouncey. One great granddaughter, Aaliyah Tellis. Five Sisters Mary Ann (Joe) Tolbert, Trenton N.J.; Susie Jackson, Irvington, N.J.; Mattie Robinson, Troy, Al; Jeanette Jackson, Trenton N.J.; Annie Rea (Malcom) Sykes, Trenton, N.J. Two brothers Sylvester (Rita) Jackson, East Orange, N.J.; Jimmie (Gaynell) Jackson, Trenton, N.J.; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and two special friends: Mr. Rooselvet and Ms. Leana Maddox.
