The Pike County Chamber of Commerce and the Troy Tourism Department invite all Troy University Trojan fans to tailgate downtown as a prelude to the “big game” tonight between the Trojans and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.
“At this time of the football season, every game is a big game and we want the Trojans to know that we are behind them,” said Shelia Jackson, tourism director. “We want to begin the tradition of Trojan fans gathering in the downtown area before all home games to show our support for our team and our university.”
The Downtown Tailgate party will be from 3 until 6 p.m. on the square.
“We’ll have tables and chairs set up and Henry Everette will entertain with his special brand of music,” Jackson said. “It will be a fun time and a great way to support our Trojans. So, we encourage everyone to grab a sandwich or a to-go box from your favorite eatery, or pack a picnic and tailgate downtown. We are beginning a new Trojan tradition. Be a part of it.”
