Run-offs Today in Brundidge

Council seats for District 1 and District 3 will be decided today as Brundidge voters head back to the polls for the two run-offs.

District 1 incumbent Lawrence Bowden and his challenger Betty Baxter tied on Aug. 28 with 81 votes. Neither received a provisional vote when the Brundidge City Council canvassed the votes.

In District 3, Anthony Foster garnered one provisional ballot giving him 23 percent of the vote. Margaret Ross led that race on Aug. 28 with 81 votes and 47.9 percent of the votes.

Only voters in affected districts will be allowed to vote in the Oct. 9 election.

The polls will be open in Brundidge for both districts at 108 North Main Street in the building that was formerly Haisten Hardware.

Races that were decided on Aug. 28 were: Mayor, Jimmy Ramage; District 2 seat, Arthur Lee Griffin; District 4 seat Cynthia Pearson; and District 5 seat, Steven Coleman.
