Charles Henderson volleyball beats Barbour County, Highland Home

Charles Henderson improved its season record to 9-12 with victories over Barbour County and Highland Home in a tri-match at Wagoner Hall on Monday.
The Trojans defeated Barbour County in the opener 25-16, 25-23.
Oliva Hudson, coming back from a minor injury, pace the home team with nine kills. Victoria Outlaw had three kills and an ace.
Becca Hartley chipped in with a pair of kills and aces.
“The girls rallied together and did what they needed to do,” head coach Jennifer Sikes said. “We had Olivia back today. They seemed to play better as a team.”
Charles Henderson lost a trio of matches over the weekend in a tournament in Dothan. The Trojans fell to Northview, Russell County and Elba.
Charles Henderson knocked off Highland Home in the nigh cap 25-19, 25-9.
“I feel like we’re at a tweaking point where we’re learning to perfect things,” senior Victoria Outlaw said. “We’re learning how to close the door and get the win instead of letting them come back.”
In the Highland Home match Hartley led the way with six aces, three kills and two digs.
Alli Ellis finished with three digs and a kill.
The Trojans will travel to Ariton to face Ariton and Northview in another tri-match.
Charles Henderson will host the Class 4A Area 3 tournament on Oct. 18.
