When police arrived, they found Cedric Devon Lampley, 33, inside a mobile home that did not belong to him. Homeowners were not present at the time of the crime.

A subsequent investigation led police to find that Lampley is also the suspect in a Jan. 21 burglary. In that case, a homeowner answered a knock at the door and a man entered uninvited. The man took the homeowner’s wallet and ran from the residence in an unknown direction, according to police records.

In the Sept. 13 incident, Lampley is charged with third-degree burglary and is being held in the Pike County Jail on a $2,500 bond. In the Jan. 21 case, Lampley is charged with second-degree burglary and being held on a $5,000 bond.

Scarbrough also reported, in an unrelated case, Troy Police also arrested a Troy woman for robbery third-degree on Sept. 13.

Police were called to the Piggly Wiggly on U.S. Highway 231 in Troy regarding a shoplifter.

The storeowner and an employee confronted a woman after watching her place several items in a bag she brought into the store. The woman became combative, according to police, and tried to fight the storeowner and employee before attempting to flee the store. The store’s glass sliding doors were damaged during the crime.

When police arrived at the scene they arrested Barbara Jean Mahone, 33, for robbery third-degree, theft of property third-degree, and criminal trespass third-degree, Scarbrough said.

Mahone’s bond information was not available at deadline.
