Malcolm Lawrence Griffin

Malcolm Lawrence Griffin, native of Troy, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, at his residence in Montgomery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 19,  10:00 a.m., at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Brother Scott Sexton officiating. Eulogies will be delivered by Grady Reeves and Lewis Fannin.

He was born Aug. 9, 1932 to Pugh and Hattie Mae Berry Griffin. He graduated from Troy High School in 1950, attended Troy State College, and served in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. He was a retiree of the  U.S. Postal Service and National Guard, and was a sergeant with the Troy Police Department for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Alcazar Shrine Temple, and served on the adjustment board at Panama City Beach, Fl.

Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Judy Griffin.  He is survived by two daughters, Pam Griffin Frederick (David) of Prattville, and Pat Griffin Reynolds (Jim), Carrollton, Ga., four grandsons, Lawrence and Buck Frederick, and Griffin and Tucker Reynolds; sister, Jo Ann Lewis of Andalusia, and brother, Douglas Griffin of Troy.

Pallbearers are Lawrence and Buck Frederick, Griffin and Tucker Reynolds, Benny Scarborough, and Sonny Scrivener.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Saturday morning breakfast friends at Mr. Gus Restaurant, Jo Ann and Phil Norton at Farmers Market Cafe and all waitresses and cooks, friends from his days at Troy Police Department.
