Franklin N. Gorman (Booster/Pappy), age 86 of Troy,was born December 9, 1925, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Troy Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Alsup officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Mr. Gorman was preceded in death by his son Timothy Nathan Gorman; his parents, Ruben and Oris Gorman; three sisters, Mary Sims (Luther), Ghenieve Simmons (William) and Janey Ruth Butler; one brother, J.W. Gorman; one nephew, Ronnie Gorman. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Childs Gorman; two sons, David Gorman (Roslyn) and Danny Gorman; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Gorman, Bridgette Gorman, Jacob Gorman, Danielle Gorman, Justin Gorman and Tabitha Gorman; one step granddaughter, Liane Knotts and one great granddaughter, Samantha Hill; one brother Billy Gorman (Marshada) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gorman proudly served two tours in the Army in the Philippines and one tour in the states. After returning home he became a carpenter and roofer from 1950 until 2003. He has been a member of The First Presbyterian Church for 60 years.
Flowers or memorials will be accepted and appreciated. He will be greatly missed by family and so many friends.
