John Hixon Brabham

John Hixon Brabham, age 77, of Troy, AL., passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at Troy Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Brabham will be Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at 1 p.m., at Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Ward officiating. Mr. Brabham will be entombed at the Green Hills Mausoleum. Visitation for Mr. Brabham will be at the funeral Home two hours prior to the service. Green Hills Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Brabham proudly served four years aboard the U.S.S. Brown. He was a member of the Perote Methodist Church, an avid dog lover and also enjoyed being a member of the Troy Domino Club. He retired from CSX Railroad after 37 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Mrs. Shirley Faulkner Brabham. Mr. Brabham is also survived by one sister, Virginia McMath of St. Petersburg, FL., two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Faulkner Grissett of Troy, AL., and Ann Brabham of Union Springs, AL., two brothers-in-law, William Robert Shephard of Troy AL., and Roger Yearby of Montgomery, AL.

Pallbearers for Mr. Brabham will be Joseph Brabham, Bob Brabham, Bill Brabham, Leon Houston, Keith Houston, Bill Hixon and Bill Elliott. Honorary pallbearers are employees of CSX Railroad, Red Oliver, Robert Missildine, Gene Harrison, William Fannin and members of the Troy Domino Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church or to the Pike County Humane Society at P.O. Box 1331, Troy, AL., 36081.
