Robbyn Brooks has been named managing editor for Troy Publications Inc.

“We’re excited to have Robbyn step up and lead the editorial department for us,” said Stacy G. Graning, publisher. “She’s an excellent reporter with a wealth of experience and a passion for community journalism.”

Brooks has been a staff writer with Troy Publications since December 2011. She is a 2001 graduate of Troy University and has been in the news business for more than 10 years. She started her career as a photojournalist for WSFA in Montgomery, worked as a reporter for WNCF and then headed further south to the Florida Panhandle where she was a reporter and editor for a group of Freedom Communications publications – including the Destin Log and Northwest Florida Daily News.

Brooks recently married college classmate Aaron Taylor and they live in Troy with their two cats, Bart and Toby, and a German shepherd, Ajax, who they adopted from the local shelter.
