Troy Elementary School first-graders found reassurance they are capable of reading through an activity Friday called “I can read.” The Messenger provided copies of the Friday edition of the newspaper to the school for free, which included clippable pieces that said “I can read.” The first-graders were tasked with finding the pieces inside the newspaper, cutting them out and pasting them on construction paper.
