Four Trojans selected to All-Conference Team

NEW ORLEANS – Troy head coach Larry Blakeney and quarterback Corey Robinson took part in the annual Sun Belt Conference Football media day in New Orleans on Monday.

Following a 3-9 season, Troy was selected to finish fifth by Sun Belt coaches in the preseason poll. Florida International was chose to win the league followed by Arkansas State, Louisiana-Lafayette, and Western Kentucky.

Four Trojans were named to the preseason All-Conference team. Reciever Eric Thomas, defensive end Tony Davis, linebacker Kanorris Davis, and safety Brynden Trawick were all selections.

The conference also announced it was launching a digital network managed by XOS Digital. The company will enlist and manage official corporate sponsors and will provide a “video-centric” array of products including website, mobile applications, and an OnDemand Game Store.

Representatives from the Sun Belt’s newest football playing members, Texas State and Georgia State, were also on hand. Both will begin league play in 2013.

Dozens of sports writers, radio and televions hosts were on hand for the event. ESPN 3 covered the conference live.

Troy will open its season on Sept. 1 against UAB. It was announced earlier this week that the game between the in-state rivals will kick off at 11 a.m. And be broadcast by Fox College Sports.
