Underwood 3, Greenville 1

Underwood’s Tiffany McIntyre broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth with a 2-RBI double. Tiffany Lane and Hannah Arnett both scored on the play.

After Underwood took a 1-0 lead in the first on Kendra Smith’s RBI single, Greenville answered in the bottom half. Kristin Lassiter’s bunt single led off the inning and Kenyatta Peterson followed with game-tying triple.

Cortnee Meyers was 2-for-3 for Greenville.

Kendra Smith finished 2-for-3 for Underwood.

Montgomery Suburban West 6, Underwood 0

A solid pitching performance by Delandria Mallard led Montgomery Suburban West to a 6-0 win over Underwood.

Leading 4-0, Fantavia Brown laced a 2-RBI single in the fifth inning to help Montgomery pull away.

On top of a shut-down showing in the circle, Mallard finished 2-for-3 at the plate for Montgomery Suburban West. Marleena Waters was 2-for-2 with an RBI.

For Underwood, Kendra Smith, Maggie Sharp and Hannah Arnett produced the team’s three hits.

Montgomery Suburban West will play Crenshaw County at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Underwood will play an elimination game on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.

Crenshaw County 12, Montgomery Grey 6

After being down early in the first three innings, Crenshaw County stormed back to outscore Montgomery Gray 10-1 in the next three innings to advance in the Dixie Debs State Tournament.

For Montgomery Gray, Stephanie Thomas went 1-for-3, Amy Joiner went 3-for-4, Quanisha Timmons went 2-for-3 and Niya Alozie went 1-for-3 with an RBI double.

For Crenshaw County, Allison Riley went 2-for-3, Kristy Sport went 2-for-3 with an RBI, Morgan Jinright went 3-for-3 with an RBI, Briana Odom went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Christina Castle went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Crenshaw County will now face  Montgomery Suburban West at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Greenville and Montgomery Grey were playing in an elimination game late Saturday night.
