Good morning and good Tuesday.

As we venture into another sun-filled week, we stop to reflect on the good news and good deeds of the week gone by and to look ahead to the week to come:

• Congratulations to all the baseball and softball teams representing Troy in district and state tournaments. We proud to see the level of sportsmanship inherent in our youngsters. The players, parents, coaches and fans represent our communty well.

• And speaking of summer ball, we look forward to 2012 Dixie Angels Traditional and 2012 Dixie Ponytails X-Play state tournaments, both of which begin Friday here in Troy. These tournaments are an excellent opportunity for our community to shine, and we hope you’ll go out to the Sportsplex and watch the games and cheer on our local teams. And, along the way, we hope you’ll show true hospitality to the players, parents and fans in town for the tournament. Restaurants will be busy, stores will be crowded, and folks will be asking for directions to laundromats and help from host families.

• The new Troy Public Library opens at 10 a.m. Thursday. It’s an exciting event for our community as this state-of-the-art library facility is opened to the public. We encourage you to attend the grand opening and to take advantage of the library and all it has to offer.

Here’s hoping you have a week filled with good news and good deeds.
