Brundidge street repairs should be steady

Troy Water and Sewer Superintendent Mike Davis is just as ready for roadwork to be finished on South Brundidge Street as everyone else is.

“It will be nice,” Davis said with a small sigh.

After construction was held up twice by AT&T, once to move their own lines and once to move fiber optics belonging to TroyCable within their property, it looks as if smooth sailing might be ahead.

Davis said that AT&T has completed their work and Troy Cable should be able to finish the remainder of their tasks by next week’s end.

Then, Wiregrass Construction will be back on Brundidge Street to begin putting in sidewalks, curbs and gutters at the intersection of Madison Street as early as July 1, Davis said.

“It will take a week to 10 days and then hopefully, right behind that, they’ll start milling and paving,” Davis said.

Once the resurfacing of the street begins, it will take about a month to see the project complete.

“It’s all dependent on weather conditions,” Davis said, “but those are pretty good numbers to go by.”

Motorists have seen construction on Brundidge Street for a year, this month, due to both a water and sewer infrastructure upgrade and the street’s resurfacing project.
