Police are currently investigating a ‘serious cruelty to animal’ incident.
According to a release from the Troy Police Department, officers were notified of malnourished horses on Pike County Road 2294.
Police state that the owner left the horses with a caretaker. When the owner returned, he found the horses severely malnourished and near death. An investigation by TPD with assistance from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department Livestock Investigator lead to a court order to remove any horses located on that property.
Six warrants were signed on a suspect who police decline to identify.
