“It feels good,” Dottley said of his triumph.

“I feel like I’ve been playing well lately but I haven’t had very good results. It’s nice to know that my good play worked out for me.”

Dottley knew he was in for a fight. He started the day two back from the leader looking a final round that could take him over the top.

Mission accomplished. Dottley attributed most of his good play towards his time on the green where he was able to bring his “A” game.

“I knew I needed a really low number to win today.” Dottley said

“It was definitely all my putter today. I made everything I looked at all day from inside 15 feet with a exception of a few here and there, but other than that the putting was with me all week.”

This isn’t Dottley’s first win, but he has been absent from tournament play for the last three years so he wasn’t able to recall the last time he had won.

“This is my first one in awhile. It feels like the first one all over again,” Dottley said.

“I knew I had to shoot low so I was playing really aggressive from start to finish.”

When asked who Dottley models his game after, he claimed that he likes to march to the beat of his own drum when it comes to how he plays.

“It’s more like a combination of people,” Dottley said.

“But I kind of have my own philosophies.”

Dottley is hoping he’ll be back to defend his crown next year, but he’s already preparing for his next few tournaments as he readies for the Hooters Tour.
