Troy University women’s basketball head coach Chanda Rigby introduced her two assistant coaches at a meet-and-greet at Sartain Hall on Tuesday.

Jennifer Graf and Kayla Ard were introduced in front of a crowd of players and supporters.

Both Graf and Ard played for Rigby at Loranger High School in Louisiana and won state titles.

Graf served as head coach at Northwestern State for eight seasons while Ard was Rigby’s assistant at Pensacola State the past two years.

“The excitement is there because everything is so new. The new arena, new coaches, new players, it’s a new beginning,” said Graf, who at age 26 was the youngest head coach in Division I in 2004. “The coaches are just bubbling over in our offices. We are all wishing it was basketball season already.”

Ard helped Rigby and Pensacola State to an undefeated 32-0 season in 2010-11. Ard also served as recruiting coordinator and will likely handle the same duties at Troy.

“We’re very excited about being here. We know we can do something special here,” Ard said. “The support we’ve received from the university and everyone has made things so much easier.”

Rigby and company also announced the signing of four players.

Annaya Moore, Simone Johnson, Britney McCloud, Ashley Beverly Kelley, and JoAnna Harden will all join the Trojans next season.

Moore is a 6-2 forward from Bolingbrook, Illinois while Jackson is an imposing center at 6-5 from Ellenwood, Ga.
