Congresswoman Martha Roby is the planned speaker at next week’s Female Factor luncheon.

“We thought we should hear what was going on in Washington from a woman’s perspective,” said Dianna Lee, a member of the Female Factor advisory board. “[Female Factor] involves everything and that’s why we wanted Congresswoman Roby to come speak.”

Roby will have prepared statements at the luncheon followed by a question and answer session, where ladies present are invited to participate in a discussion about recent events and how they affect the women of Pike County.

Female Factor sessions are once-a-month and are set up by the Troy Regional Medical Center and sponsored by the hospital and other area businesses. The meetings are focused on health, wellness and other issues that affect women.

Previous discussions have included topics such as holiday weight management tips, effects of sleep disorders in women and women’s heart health. There will be a session in the fall concerning women’s finances and the importance of women in family finances.
