Dixie Minors duke it out in shootouts

In the first game of the D-Minor Division, The Athletics were unable to fend off a monstrous hitting barrage from the Padres as they lost 23-9 in six.

Six players on the Padres hit homeruns, four of them coming in the second, which included Jackson Senn, Davis Allen, Clayton Steed, Logan Johnson, Jonathan Williams and Mason Calhoun.

Allen, Stevon Stringer, Brady Woodham each had triples, while Ja’Quavian Johnson, Thierry Jones and Steed all had singles.

For the A’s, Tyler Dease and Copeland Marx each had homeruns. Jabori Johnson had a double and a single, while Zach Jones had a double.

In the later game, The Giants had six-run rally going in the sixth, but just came up short of making a comeback as they fell 13-8 in six.

For the Braves, Brax Barron pitched 3 innings and struck out eight, including two that were looking.

Hunter Wofford went 2 for 3 with a triple and a single. Barron went 2 for 3 as well, also with a triple and a single. Levi Sikes was 3 for 3 and hit a double and two singles. Collin Frazier also went 3 for 3 with a single, double and triple. Landon Thrash went 2 for 4 with a double and a single.

For the Giants, Parker Sessions went 2 of 2 with a single and a double. Walker Stallworth went 2 of 3 with a single and a double.
