Dodgers defeat D-backs in Dixie Boys action

The Dodgers knocked off the Diamondbacks 19-8 in Dixie Boys action on Tuesday.

Victory looked certain for the Diamondbacks after scoring six runs in the top of the first inning. Eric Lee led off the game with a double and score two batters later when Trae Sullivant was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The next batter, Morgan Sullivant singled home Kiegan Simmons and Jack Labrant. Cody Henderson would walk and also score on Kendrez White’s fielder’s choice.

The Dodgers didn’t waste any time in answering in the bottom of the first. Marquese Christian singled to score Drew Starling Ty Witherington’s single scored Colby Roberts and Christian. RBI hits from Morgan Hutchinson, Roberts, and another by Witherington helped the Dodgers score 10 runs in the inning.

Witherington finished 3-for-4 with four RBI while Starling was 1-for-1 with a two-run home run in the second.

Tyler Floyd and JP Steele also had hits.

Lee was 3-for-3 for the Diamondbacks.

Tyler Ellis also had a hit.
