A Union Springs woman was killed in a single car wreck Thursday afternoon.

Mickell Denise Williams, 29, was driving northbound on U.S. Hwy. 29 when her 2001 Chevrolet left the road, struck a ditch and overturned, according to Sgt. Steve Jarrett with the Department of Public Safety.

The wreck happened about 12:45 near County Road 7708, about five miles north of County Road 7741.

No more information is available at this time and Jarrett said the wreck is still under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
