Lawson’s stellar performance leads Trojans to 21-5 victory

DOTHAN – Fifth-ranked Charles Henderson High School destroyed Providence Christian, 21-5, on Monday.
In a make up from an earlier rain-out, the Trojans were led by Jalin Lawson who finished 3-for-3 at the plate with a three-run home run, six RBI and pitched four innings to earn the victory.
Michael Thomas was 2-for-2 with a three-run homer of his own while Luke Hastings was 2-for-2 with three RBI. Gregory Barnette finished 1-for-1 with an RBI as well.
Charles Henderson (24-6)split a doubleheader on Saturday, defeating Trinity (Montgomery) 12-5 before falling to St. Luke’s (Mobile) 6-3.
Joey Denison was 3-for-5 in game one. Michael Fox and Jalin Lawson each had three-run home runs in the game also.
Fox was 2-for-4 in game two while Chase Smartt finished 2-for-3.
The Trojans will return home for a Tuesday afternoon match with Enterprise High School.
Charles Henderson will honor five seniors on Senior Night in the teams final tune-up before the playoffs.
Enterprise defeated Charles Henderson 10-0 earlier in the season.
Game time is set for 4:30p.m.
