Charles Henderson baseball splits Saturday doubleheader

MONTGOMERY – Charles Henderson (23-6, 6-0) split a Saturday doubleheader defeating Trinity (Montgomery) 12-5 before falling to St. Luke’s (Mobile) 6-3.
Game 1: CHHS 12, Trinity (Montgomery)5
Michael Fox was the winning pitcher, throwing four innings striking out three. Jalin Lawson finished out the final two innings on the mound.
The Trojans pounded out 17 hits led by Gregory Barnette, who was 4-for-5 on the game. Michael Fox was 3-for-4 with a three-run homerun. Lawson also contributed with a three-run longball.
Joey Denison continued his hot hitting with a 3-for-5 day while Tripp Blackmon was 2-for-4. Every Trojan starter finished the game with at least one hit.
Game two: St. Luke’s 6 (Mobile), CHHS 3
Brantley LeCroy was tagged with the loss after five innings of work.
At the plate, Fox was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Chase Smartt finished 2-for-3 with a double.
Lawson was 1-for-3 for the game. Denison turned in a 1-for-4 performance with an RBI.
Charles Henderson will play on the road against Providence Christian in Dothan on Monday at 5:00p.m.
